Music
This archival piece was originally published 7 January 2021. It is re-run today after an anonymous fax to The Oracle read “MINDO IN THE MIDST”.
Some say he was last seen walking on Cannery Row with a lava lamp and a plastic Desert Eagle tucked away in a black Texas holster. Others think they saw him flipping burgers in a Taqueria down the southwestern coast of Finland. Several dancers who worked in a Hungarian strip club and delicatessen somewhere in Vienna say he was a regular.
Truth is no one who really knows where Dirty Mindo is. Truth is it’s easy to mistake a guy with a moustache. Truth is when things go south, you can always blame it on the dolphins.
Truth is it’s hard to meet someone who gives an actual fuck. In fact, why would you care?
A maverick music manager abandoned by the band he cherished the most, left by his longtime online girlfriend, disowned by his own mother, scorned by his dad since day one, the question remains: who would want to hurt such an unfortunate soul? If someone did really abduct him, what did they hope to get out of it? A medal?
A theory leaked online last week through the QAnon Reddit feed seems to be to give us a clue. At least for now…
“As you may not know, Dirty Mindo cultivated a strong link with the underworld, hoping to discover his own “Frank Sinatra” and finally get a grip on his twin brother’s management company, mainly in order to pay the lease arrears of the Hobbit estate he had acquired in Surrey some time ago.
A “child’s dream” one may say, more of an evil genius cover up…” the thread reads “For some time now, Dirty Mindo had organised a plane fleet he liked to call his “Arminda”, which ran big chunks of California snow all over the old continent. Unfortunately, as with anything valuable in this world (water, love and for certain people, the Coin-Market-Cap curve) his luck ran out. During the first and last Oracle Sisters tour in Finland that he was haphazardly overseeing, a few wise guys (including Beanie “Fuck” Shapiro and Frankie Big-V) discovered he was running his own aviation freight operation without paying them off.
